Capoeira and their history

After the abolition of slavery in the 19th century, capoeira is prohibited as it is associated with a society that is not entirely legal. art remained illegal until 1928 while Mestre biMBA establish what is known as Luta Baiana Area, which is a version of Capoeira Angola which involves more dancing.

The origin of Capoeira

Capoeira is the Afro-Brazilian art that combines elements of dance, fighting and rhythm. It is unknown how capoeira was developed, even though it has been good to come from Africa by slaves who were brought to Brazil or based on Indian gaming that already exists.

History of capoeira

While the exact origins of the art form remains a mystery, has suggested that capoeira was developed as a self defense force with which the slave will protect themselves from their enemies. Therefore, is known as Capoeira Angola, after the first slaves in Brazil who believed from Angola.



Music

Music is the center of capoeira and there are a number of different instruments used to create the rhythm necessary for artists to move. One is the berimbau, which is said to "command the circle".

Shaped like a bow, berimbau is tied with steel wire. At one end of the shaft is a hollow gourd. To make a noise, one must strike a wire with a short stick and the sound variations can be made by pressing down pumpkin.

Rhythm comes from the tapping of atabaque, big drum. Usually, there are four beats with an emphasis on the third. Atabaque skin is made from cow skin, tightened by a ring of metal, ropes and pieces of wood.

Capoeira Today

Travelers visiting the capital of Brazil may be interested to know that there are several colleges and schools in which various forms of capoeira is taught so that they can learn the unique art while living in one of Rio de Janeiro hostels.

Or, often there are performances in the streets of Brazil's many (including Rio), which can be enjoyed.
